Body, Mind, Spirit & Context

Chinese medicine is safe and effective with more than 5,000 years of development and progress. It places great emphasis on treating the whole person and views the body, mind, spirit and context as an integrated unit. Context includes environmental factors such as culture, community, family, social networks and history. The goal of treatment is to establish a balance within the individual and in relationship to their environment.

Symptoms refer to “patterns of dysfunction” and show areas of weakness. Treatment involves evaluating the person in relationship to “patterns” and restoring the inherent energetic flow. Correcting imbalances, as opposed to masking them, supports the body’s ability to renew function, stabilize emotions and increase awareness, which can awaken new opportunities for an individual to authentically engage in life.
